The Tenant Deposit Scheme
As many of you are probably already aware from the press, the Government has introduced three schemes for the compulsory holding of tenants deposits. We are using the Government's custodial scheme, the details of which can be found on the Government's website www.depositprotection.com. The scheme is being managed by Bank of Scotland's Specialist Deposit Services Team, who will safeguard and administer all funds.
The Scheme will apply to all new and all tenancies renewed from 6th April 2007, and the deposit will only be repaid once all parties have agreed to the proposed refund, by completing an acceptance form. This can be done online or by post.
All deposits will be repaid within 10 days of the correctly completed acceptance form being received by the DPS.
